1952 – Born in Tel Aviv.
1973 – Shamir received a BS in Mathematics from Tel Aviv University.
1975 – He obtained his MSc and PhD in Computer Science from the Weizmann Institute.
1977-1980 – He did research at MIT before returning to be a member of the faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Weizmann Institute.
2002 – Shamir was awarded, together with Rivest and Adleman, the ACM Turing Award.
2006 – He also is an invited professor at École Normale Supérieure in Paris.
