1936 - Born on April 4th in Brooklyn, New York. American police officer and corruption whistle blower.

1954 - When he was eighteen, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for two years in Korea.

1960 -  Frank Serpico was an undercover cop for the New York City police department

1967 - He reported to appropriate officials “credible evidence of widespread, systemic police corruption”.

1970 - Serpico went public on widespread police corruption, prompting Mayor John Lindsay to establish the Knapp Commission, an independent investigating committee.

1972 - He resigned from the NYPD and spent the next ten years living abroad, recovering from his wounds, traveling and learning.

         - Serpico continues to speak out on police corruption and brutality.
