1971 - Born on April 16 in Lake Jackson, Texas.
- Released her first album at the age of twelve.
- First performed in her father's restaurant in the band named: Selena and Los Dinos.
1983 - Released their first album Mis Primeras Grabaciones.
- This album was not sold in stores, her father bought all the original copies but was later released in 1995.
1987 - Won the "Female Vocalist of the Year" and "Performer of the Year" award at Tejano Music Awards.
1989 - Signed by EMI Records Latin.
1990 - Her first EMI-Latin album, "Selena y Los Dinos" was released.
1991 - First female Tejano recording artist to score a Gold Record with "Ven Conmigo".
1993 - Grammy for best Mexican American performance for "Selena Live".

1994 - Won a role as singer in the film "Don Juan DeMarco". Due in theaters in April 7.
