1780 – Born on September 3rd at Bramstedt in Holstien.

 

1813-1815 – He was appoiinted as the director of the Mannheim observatory.

 

         – Became the professor of astronomy in Copenhagen.

 

1817 – Directed the triangulation of Holstein.

 

1821 – Founded the Astronomische Nachrichten and edited 31 volumes.

 

1822-1832 – Published Ephemerides Nachrichten with 11 parts.

 

1829 – He received a gold medal from the Royal Astronomical Society.

 

1850 – Died on December 28th at Altona, Holstein.
