1882 - Born on April 17th in Kunzendorf, Silesia, todays Leipnik, Poland. Artur Schnabe was an Austrian classical pianist, who also composed and taught. Schnabel was renowned for his seriousness as a musician, avoiding anything resembling pure technical bravura.

1925 - He taught at State Academy of Music, Berlin.

1933-1942 - Wrote the books, Reflection on Music and Music and the Line of Most Resistance.

1944 - He became a naturalized American citizen.

1951 - Died on August 15th in Axenstein, Switzerland.

1961 - His memoir, My Life and Music was released.
