Schirach, Baldur von
1907 - born in Weimar on the 9th of May.
1925 - Schirach joined a Wehrjugendgruppe at the age of ten and became a member of the NSDAP.
1929 - He was soon transferred to Munich and became leader of the Nationalsozialistischen Deutschen Studentenbund.
1931 - He was a Reichsjugendführer in the NSDAP.
1933 - He was made head of the Hitler Youth and given a SA rank of Gruppenführer.
1936 - He was made a state secretary.
1940 - He organized the evacuation of 5 million children from cities threatened by Allied bombing.
1942 - On the 15th of September, he mentioned their deportation as a "contribution to European culture.
1943 - He fell into disfavor, but remained at his post.
1946 - He was found guilty on the 1st of October, of "crimes against humanity" for his deportation of the Viennese Jews.
1966 - He was released on the 30th of September, and retired quietly to southern Germany.
1974 - Died on the 8th of August.
