Sarkis, Elias

1924 - Born on the 20th of July.

1948 - He earned his Doctor of Law degree at Saint Joseph University.

1955 - He was appointed Judicial Manager at the Presidential Palace in Baabda, Lebanon.

1962 - He became General Manager for Presidential Matters in Lebanon.

1968 - He was appointed Governor of the Bank of Lebanon.

1976 - He was elected President of Lebanon.

1982 - He was re-elected President of Lebanon but he was assassinated nine days before he was due to

                 take office

1985 - He died at the age of 61.
