1953 - She wrote the best-selling novel "Bonjour Tristesse" in six weeks while a student at the Sorbonne in Paris.

1954 - Wrote her first and best-known novel, the international best-seller Bonjour Tristesse, when she was 19 years old.

1957 - Married to Guy Schoeller.

1958 - Married to Robert Westhoff.

1979 - President of jury at the Cannes Film Festival.

2004 - Died of pulmonary embolism on September 24th in Honfluer.
