1934 - He conducted research at the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine in England.

1939 - He served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Medical Corps, during World War II.

1946 - He served as a Head of Pediatric Research at the University of Cincinnati.

1970 - He was honored with National Medal of Science.

1986 - He was honored with Presidential Medal of Freedom.

1993 - He died on the 3rd of March.
