1970 – She was born on the 16th day of May this year in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

1984 – She was ranked the World No. 1 junior player.

 

1985 – At age 15, she became the youngest-ever player to reach the semifinals at the French Open, where she lost to Chris Evert. She won her first top-level singles title later that year in Tokyo. She turned professional in this year.

 

1988 – This year, she won the women's doubles title at Wimbledon and a silver medal at this year’s Olympic Games.

 

1989 – She launched her own perfume, simply named "Gabriela Sabatini."

 

1990 – She won the women's singles title at the US Open.

 

1992 - After winning five tournaments in this year, she had a 29-month drought in which she failed to win a title.

 

1995 – She won her first tournament of this year at Sydney, defeating Lindsay Davenport in the final of both events.
