1970 - Paul D. Ryan, Jr. was born on the 29th day of January this year in Janesville, Wisconsin to Paul D. Ryan, Sr., and his wife, Betty. He graduated from Joseph A. Craig High School and later he attended Miami University in Ohio before entering the family business in Janesville.
1992 - Ryan worked as an aide to U.S. Senator Bob Kasten.
1995 – He served as legislative director for Sam Brownback of Kansas from this year until 1997. He also served as a speechwriter to Jack Kemp and William Bennett.
1996 – He pressed Petak on his vote for tax increases this year pertaining to the new Miller Park stadium in Milwaukee County, which is mostly outside of the 1st district.
1998 - He was first elected to the House in this year. In the Republican primary that year, he faced 35-year old beer distributor Brian Morello after former State Sen. George Petak withdrew from the race. Ryan currently serves on the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means and it’s Subcommittee on Social Security.
