1870 - Born on the 22nd of October in Berthier-en-Bas, Que., Canada.

         - Joseph Camille Roy  critic and literary historian, noted as an authority on the development of French Canadian literature.

1894 - Ordained a Roman Catholic priest, Roy received a doctorate from Laval University in Quebec that same year

         - Pursued studies at the Catholic Institute of Paris and at the Sorbonne.

         - He taught French literature at Roy, Camille.

1943 - Died on the 24th of June in Quebec.
