         – Joseph Camille Roy  critic and literary historian, noted as an authority on the development of French Canadian literature.

1894 – Ordained a Roman Catholic priest, Roy received a doctorate from Laval University in Quebec that same year

         – Pursued studies at the Catholic Institute of Paris and at the Sorbonne.

         – He taught French literature at Roy, Camille.

1943 – Died on the 24th of June in Quebec.
