1861 – He was born in East Gloucester, Massachusetts.
1905 – He spent every summer from this year until 1920 at the Florence Griswold mansion in Old Lyme.
1914 – He was a member of the National Academy and from this year until 1921.
1921 – He was a permanent resident until 1937. He was one of the founding members of the Lyme Art Association and later served as its president.
1945 – He died in Biloxi, Mississippi this year.
