1938 - Born on November 28th in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

1969 - Ritchie achieved prominence with his first feature film, Downhill Racer, which starred Robert Redford.

1972-1975 - He directed a number of notable films, including The Candidate, Prime Cut, and Smile.

1992 - He appeared in the film Innocent Blood.

1994 - Ritchie purchased for $995,000, the modest hacienda-style house at 12305 Fifth Helena Drive in the Brentwood section of LA where Marilyn Monroe died.

2001 - Died of prostate cancer on April 26th in New York City at the age of 62.
