1997 – She started her modeling and acting career.

2002 – She performed a great role in “Sora no ana (Hole of the Sky),” directed by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri.
2004 – Cast in “Cha no aji (Taste of Tea),” directed By Katsuhito Ishii. She also starred in “Tori/Kokorono Katana,” directed by Tadanobu.
2005 – She performed a role of a class president in the “Funky Forest: The First Contact”.
2006 - Breakthrough role as the angry, sexually exploring, deaf-mute in director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s ensemble “Babel”; received Golden Globe and SAG nominations for Best Supporting Actress.
