1452 – He was born on the 2nd day of October this year at Fothenringay Castle.
1472 – He married Anne Neville on the 12th day of July this year. They had one son, Edward Plantagenet (also known as Edward of Middle ham born in 1473.
1482 – Richard recaptured Berwick-upon-Tweed from the Scots, and his administration was regarded as being fair and just, endowing universities and making grants to the church.
1483 – He acquired the throne, being crowned on the 6th day of July this year until the time of his death. At the time of Richard’s coronation, his three elder brothers were all dead. His elder brother George Plantagenet, 1st Duke of Clarence had been attainted in connection with a treason charge, and his children Margaret and Edward, Earl of Warwick were therefore removed from the line of succession.
1484 – His son died on the 9th day of April this year not long after being created Prince of Wales.
1485 – Another rebellion arose against Richard, headed by Henry Tudor, 2nd Earl of Richmond (later King Henry VII) and his uncle Jasper. He died in the battle.
