1873 - Born on the 8th of September in Baden, near Vienna, Austria.

1912 - The famed Austro German showman first came to the attention of most American playgoers when Winthrop Ames imported his mounting of the Oriental pantomime Sumurun.

1924 - Reinhardt visited New York to recreate his production of The Miracle.

1927 - He brought over his German company for a season of repertory.

1934 - He staged his version of A Midsummer Night's Dream in Hollywood.

1937 - The Eternal Road in New York.

1938 - The Merchant of Yonkers.

1942 - Reinhardt's version of Die Fledermaus was offered to Broadway as Rosalinda.

1943 - Irwin Shaw's Sons and Soldiers.

         - Died on the 31st of October.
