1901 – He was born on the 10th day of December this year at “Logan” near Evansdale near Launceston, Tasmania, one of seven children.

 

1911 – His parents decided to leave Launceston for England to promote their children’s education.

 

1915 – He attended Geelong Grammar between this year until 1920, and subsequently studied law at Cambridge University.

 

1932 – He met and married Sunday Ballieu in Melbourne; where he’ll supposed to be practicing law right after he came back from graduation.

 

1934 – The couple purchased a former dairy farm on the Yarra River floodplain at Bulleen, a suburb of Melbourne, which became known as Heide. A number of modernist artists, known as the Heide Circle came to live and work at Heide at various times during the 1930's, 40's and 50's.

 

1981 – He died at 79 on the 5th day of December this year.
