1801 – Born on the 26th of January Gloucester Co., New Jersey.

1826 – He moved to New York to study painting.

1829 – He depected subjects from Washington Irving’s stories to paint.

         – He painted "Rip Van Winkle".

1832 – Painted The Money Diggers.

1855 – He made "Ichabod Crane at the Van Tassel’s Ball".

1860 – Painted Institute: "Dancing on the Battery" as one of the four subjects given to him by Washington Irving.
