1949 - Wolfgang Johann Puck, Wolfgang Johann Topfschnig born on the 8th of July. He is an Austrian-American celebrity chef, restaurateur, and businessman based in Los Angeles, California. He was born to Maria Topfschnig and a butcher who abandoned her before their child's birth.
1973 - Worked in New York City, at La Tour in Indianapolis, Indiana, then moved to Los Angeles, where he established himself by turning around the failing Ma Maison by promoting California cuisine.
2007 - It was learned that one of his cooks for a Sports Illustrated event was infected with Hepatitis A and may have spread the virus to hundreds of attendees, Public health officials are urging that all attendees get an immune globulin shot by the 28th of February.
