Zumpt, August Wilhelm

1815 – He was born on the 4th day of December this year in Königsberg, Berlin.
   
1851 – He studied in Berlin and in this year became professor in the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium.
   
1847 – His papers on epigraphy brought him into conflict with Theodore Mommsen, but with the preparation of the Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum a scheme drawn up by Mommasen himself was approved this year.
   
1877 – He died on the 22nd day of April in Berlin.
