Zubeir Wako, Gabriel

1941 – He was born on the 27^th day of February in Sudan.

1963 – He was ordained a priest on the 21^st day of July this year.

1974 – He was appointed Bishop of Wau.

1979 – He was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Khartoum.

1981 – He was appointed Bishop of Khartoum.

1992 – He was the President of the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference.

2003 – He was proclaimed Cardinal by Pope John Paul II on the 21^st day of October this year.

2005 – He was one of the cardinal electors who participated in this year papal conclave that selected Pope Benedict XVI.
