1928-1939 - He was the king of the Albanians

1925 - Elected president of the Albanian Republic, from one of the leading Muslim clans of Albanian

1928 - The National Assembly proclaimed him king

          - Albania was strengthened ties with Benito Mussolini of Italy through Zog

1939 - Mussolini finally ousted and exiled Zog, making Albania an Italian protectorate in August 7

          - Following World War II, Albania became a communist state, and Zog remained in exile

1961 - Died on April 9
