Zinn, Johann Gottfried
1727 – He was born on the 6th day of December this year in Schwabach, Germany . In spite of his short life, he made a great contribution to anatomy.
1753 – He became director of the Botanic garden of the University of Göttingen.
1755 – He became a professor in the medical faculty.
1757 – He described the orchid genus Epipactis that belongs to the family Orchidaceae. He also coined the anatomic terms like the Zonula ciliaris Zinnii, now called Zonule of Zinn and Circulus arteriosus sclerae also known as Annulus of Zinn (or Circle of Zinn).
1759 – He died on the 6th day of April this year in Göttingen. Germany.
