1941- Became the chief of staff of the red army, and he was involved in every great soviet victory during World War II, including Moscow, Stalingrad, and Kursk.
1943 - Zhukov led the invasion of Germany.
1945 - Became commander in chief of the soviet occupation forces.
1953 - Fearful of Zhukov’s popularity and power, stalin removed him from center stage, but a long friendship with Nikita Khrushchev helped bring him back to prominence afte stalin’s death.

1957 - While minister of defense, Zhukov played an important role in blocking an attempt to oust Khrushchev, but Khrushchev soon became suspicious of Zhukov.
