1915 – He joined the Bolsheviks.
   
1939 – He became a leading member of the Politburo and Communist Party secretary in Leningrad.
   
1946 – With his close association to Joseph Stalin, he formulated the extreme anti-Western cultural policy known as "Zhdanovism". That has implemented strict government control in the Soviet Union.
 
1947 – He founded the propaganda bureau called “Cominform”.
 
1948 – He died on the 31st of August in Moscow, Russia.
