1928 - Born on November 23rd in Hollywood, California. American basketball player who was the first player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) to score over 2,000 points in one season.

         - George Yardley was called "The Scoring Machine" when he broke the legendary Hank Luisetti’s Stanford record.

1951 - He led the San Francisco Stewart’s Chevrolet team to the National AAU Championship.

1953 - The sharp-shooting forward enjoyed a seven-year career in the NBA.

         - He played for Fort Wayne, Detroit and Syracuse.

1957-1958 - He was a member of the Detroit Pistons during season.

         - He became the first player to score 2,000 points in one NBA season.

1996 - Elected into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

1997 - Enshrined in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame.

2004 - Died on August 12th in South Beach, California.
