Weider, Joe

1922- He was born on the 29th day of November this year in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

1939 – Before founding the IFBB, he published the first issue of Your Physique magazine. He began his publishing empire with $7 at age 17, after building his own barbells out of junked car wheels and axles.

1968 - Twenty-nine years later, in 1968, the publication was renamed Muscle Builder magazine.

1982 – The name changed again to Muscle & Fitness.

1983 – He was named "Publisher of the Year" by The Periodical and Book Association.

1999 – His Bodybuilding Hall of Fame was launched.
