Walters, Barbara Ann
1929 - Born on September 25th in Boston, Maryland.
1953 - Graduated and received her B.A. in English degree from Sarah Lawrence College.
1958 - Married to Robert Henry Katz, a New York businessman.
1961 - She worked as an assistant to the producer at New York's WRCA-TV, and as a publicist for long-time talk show host and Republican activist Tex McCrary, before joining Today as a researcher and writer.
1963 - Married to Lee Guber, a stage producer.
1976 - She left NBC to co-anchor The ABC Evening News with Harry Reasoner, becoming the first female to anchor a network newscast.
1984 - Walters was also co-host of 20/20, again opposite Downs.
1986 - Married to Merv Adelson, the co-founder of Lorimar Pictures.
1997 - She created the girls' gabfest The View, and has been among the program's hosts ever since.
1999 - She hosted the program, 20/20, either solo or with other sidekicks.
