1833 - Born on the 1st of August in South Gibson, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.
1854 - He studied law in Hamillton College in Clinton New York.
1855 - He was admitted to the bar and he practiced in Owego, Broome Country, New York.
1864 - He practiced law and banking.
1869 - He served as Governor of Virginia.
1875 - He was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-fourth and Forty-fifth Congresses.
1881 - He served as president of the New York Underground Railroad Company.
1885 - He died at the age of 52 at the month of May 11th at New York City and buried in Spring Forest
Cemetery, Binghamton.
