1946 - Born 19th of May at Honakaa on the big island of Hawaii.
1976 - He obtained his Juris Doctor degree at University of Hawaii at Manoa.
1978 - He was a delegate to the Hawaii State Constitutional Convention and helped establish the Office
of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA).
1980 - He won office as a state representative of Hawaii.
1982 - He became lieutenant governor in Hawaii.
1986 - He serve as the fourth Governor of Hawaii.
1994 - He ended his governorship in Hawaii and worked as a lobbyist for Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard,
McPherson & Hand in Washington, D.C.
1999 - He was appointed as a Head of the American Samoa Economic Advisory Commission.
2002 - He ran for the United State House of Representatives but he dropped out of the first
special election.
