1590 - Born on January 9th in Paris, France. French painter who introduced an Italianate Baroque style of painting into France.
1611 - Trained by his sign-painter father, the fourteen-year-old Vouet painted a portrait in England and accompanied France's ambassador to Constantinople.
1612-1617 - Vouet formed his style in Italy, where he lived for five years.
1642 - Famous and respected, he was president of Rome's Accademia di San Luca.
1648 - He established the Académie Royale.
1649 - Died on June 30th in Paris.
