2001 - On the 11th of September, when tragedy struck the World Trade Center, he and New York's Bravest were at Ground Zero within minutes, saving thousands of lives and facing unimaginable obstacles and challenges in two of the tallest buildings in the world.

2002 - He was made a member of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.

       - It was the crowning achievement in his distinguished 31-year career with the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), from which he retired in January.
