1926 - Born on the 11th of August in Copenhagen, Denmark.

1950 - Graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge, and worked as a personal assistant to J. Paul Getty after having practiced law in London.

1966 - Married Sunny, who was then the former wife of Prince Alfred of Auersperg

1982 - He stood trial for the attempted murder of his wife Sunny at their estate, Clarendon Court, in Newport, Rhode Island.

       - He appealed, hiring famous Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz to represent him.

1984 - Dershowitz and his team of attorneys managed to cast serious doubts on some of the most damning evidence and witness testimony presented in the first trial, and the conviction was reversed.

1990 - Dershowitz wrote a book about the Bülow case, which later was made into a film, Reversal of Fortune, starring Jeremy Irons as Claus - a role which earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor.
