1876 - Born on the 22nd of June in Chilleurs-aux-Bois, Loiret.

1912 - She founded her own fashion house, "Vionnet." The House of Vionnet grew to employ over 1,100 seamstresses and was the first fashion house to create ready to wear designs from haute couture for sale in the United States.

1920 - Vionnet created a stir by introducing the bias cut, a technique for cutting cloth diagonal to the grain of the fabric enabling it to cling to the body while moving with the wearer.

1930 - Vionnet dominated haute couture in the setting trends with her sensual gowns worn by such stars as Marlene Dietrich, Katherine Hepburn, and Greta Garbo.

1939 - Vionnet acted as a mentor to later designers, passing on her principles of elegance, movement, architectural form, and timeless style.

1975 - Died on the 2nd of March.

1988 - The Vionnet fashion house was revived by the Lummen family and specializes primarily in accessories and luxury goods.

2006 - Vionnet appointed a new Creative Director, designer Sophia Kokosalaki, and launched a debut clothing collection for Spring/Summer 2007  it's first clothing collection in 67 years.
