Adolphus Raimundus Vernon Agopsowicz
1932 - Adolphus Raimundus Vernon Agopsowicz or John Vernon, born on the 24th of February in Zehner, Saskatchewan. He was a prolific stage-trained Canadian character player who made a career out of convincingly playing crafty villains, morally-bankrupt officials and heartless authority figures in American films and television.
1967 - He made his US film debut in John Boorman's noir/gangster classic Point Blank, as a trusted friend who betrays Lee Marvin.
1971 - He again failed to inspire confidence as the ineffectual mayor of San Francisco in Dirty Harry.
1978 - He may be best remembered as the sinister Dean Vernon Wormer in John Landis' Animal House.
1979 - He reprised for the TV spin-off "Delta House".
1988- Film comedy roles, a highlight being Mr. Big in the blaxploitation spoof I'm Gonna Git You Sucka.
1990 - His later roles were as villains, and he played one of the lead roles for the short-lived series Acapulco H.E.A.T.
2005 - He died in Los Angeles, California of complications following heart surgery, aged 72 on the 1st of February.
