1527 - He studied under Andrea del Sarto, and lived mostly at Florence and Rome.

1550 - He was an architect and painter, best known for his design of the Uffizi in Florence, but today his fame rests on The Lives of the Most Eminent Italian Architects, Painters, and Sculptors (trans title), which remains the major source of information on its subject.

1563 - He helped found the Florence Accademia del Disegno (now the Accademia di Belle Arti Firenze), with the Grand Duke and Michelangelo as capi of the institution and 36 artists chosen as members.

1574 - Died on the 27th of June in Florence, Italy.
