1949 - Born on September 19th in Neasden, England. English model, actress and singer.

1966 - Started and was offered a modeling contract by Nigel Davies.

1967 - She first arrived in New York in March.

         - To concerns that the Twiggy craze would die down within a month, Twiggy became an instant icon and supermodel.

         - Imitated by Mattel when they issued a "Twiggy Barbie" and by Milton Bradley who created a board game out of her.

1971 - She embarked on an award-winning acting and singing career, including Ken Russell's film version of Sandy Wilson's musical, "The Boy Friend", for which she won two Golden Globe Awards.

1977 - Married to Michael Witney on June 14th.

1981 - She made her West End debut as "Cinderella" and played Eliza Doolittle in a legit performance of "Pygmalion".

1983 - Was nominated for Broadway's Tony Award as Best Actress (Musical) for "My One and Only".

         - She reunited with her "Boy Friend" co-star Tommy Tune and together dazzled Broadway audiences as a tapping twosome with "My One and Only", a warm, nostalgic revamping of the Gershwin classic "Funny Face".

1988 - Married to Leigh Lawson on September 23rd.

1997 – She acted in London stage revival of Noel Coward's "Blithe Spirit".

1999 – She returned to New York stage as Lawrence in Off-Broadway production "If Love Were All", a revised version of "Noel and Gertie", directed by Lawson.

2001 – She co-hosted hosted the English magazine program "This Morning".

2005 – She joined the cast of the TV show "America's Next Top Model" as one of four permanent judges.

         - She also returned to modeling, fronting a major new TV, press and billboard campaign for Marks & Spencer, her department store chain.

2006 - Started a clothing line through Great Universal called the Twiggy Collection for spring/summer.

         – She portrayed herself as a nineteen year-old in the radio play Elevens with Twiggy for BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series.
