1887- Born on the 15th of September in Whitehall, Michigan
1905 - She graduated from Muskegon Business College of nearby Muskegon, and became a lawyer with a private practice.
1925-1937 - She was registrar of probate court of Muskegon County and judge of probate.
1938 - She was elected the county's first female state representative and served as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives
1941-1942 - Thompson then served on the Social Security Board of Washington, D.C.

1946 - United States Adjutant General’s Office.
- Member and chair of the Michigan state Prison Commission for Women.
1950 - Thompson was elected as a Republican from Michigan's 9th congressional district to the 82nd Congress and subsequently re-elected to the two succeeding Congresses.
1956 - She was an unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination to the 85th Congress, being defeated by fellow Republican Robert P. Griffin and returned to her home in Whitehall.
1970 - Died on the 5th of April in Plainwell Sanitorium in Allegan County and is interred in Oakhurst Cemetery of Whitehall.
