1898 - Shinichi Suzuki, born on the 17th of October in Nagoya, Japan. He was the creator of the international Suzuki method of music education.
1915 - At the age of 17 that he finally taught himself how to play the violin after becoming inspired by a recording of Mischa Elman.
1920 - At the age of 22, he persuaded his father to allow him to study in Germany, where Karl Klingler eventually became his violin teacher.
1998 - Died at his home in Matsumoto, Japan on the 26th of January.
