Suzan Ari

1927 - Suzan Ari born on the 12th of July in Morphou of parents Emine and Huzeyin Zihni Uney -a barber.

1946 - Showed the courage of conviction that while there was nothing wrong with the Cypriot Turkish and Greek custom of dowries, marriage should be for love. Married Orhan Seyfi Ari, a leader in the below.

1946 - 1960 - Helped lead and noteworthily contributed to the reforming educational and social efforts to resurrect cultural heritage and identity amoung the Turkish Cypriots, notably in Paphos and Loudrijina, and patriotism amoung those who no longer could even speak their native tongue but only Greek as a result of natural de-ethnicisation, and to popularise education and the teaching of skills to women pupils.  

2002 - Had been to prayers on the night of 19th of November 2002 in Nicosia with neighbours and friends.

        - Morning of the 20th of November, she was found to have peacefully passed away.

        Educational Trust sent tulips and Prime Minister of Cyprus-KKTC attended her funeral.
