1946 – He was born on the 15th day of September this year in New York City. He attended high school at The Hill School, an exclusive college-preparatory school in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

 

1964 – He graduated from this boarding school. Stone then attended Yale University and New York University. He attended Yale, dropping out after one year.

 

1967 – He served with the United States Army from April this year until November 1968.

 

1978 - His first "Oscar" was for Best Adapted Screenplay for Midnight Express.

 

1982 – He participated in are Conan the Barbarian.

 

1985 – He received a Razzie nomination in the category Worst Screenplay.

 

1986 – He has made three films about Vietnam, the first one was “Platoon.” He won Academy Awards for directing this film.

 

1989 – Followed by “Born on the Fourth of July”, in which he won an Academy for directing this film.

 

 

1992 - Directs and releases controversial movie, "JFK"

 

 

1993 – And the last one was “heaven and Earth.”

 

 

1997 – In the past decade, Stone has directed U-Turn, which he describes as a small film that he would enjoy seeing as a teenager.

 

 

1999 – He was arrested and pleaded guilty to drug possession and no contest to driving under the influence.

 

 

2003 – He traveled to Cuba where he interviewed Fidel Castro for three days. The result was the documentary "Comandante.”

 

2005 – He was arrested again on the night of May 27 of this year in Los Angeles for a small amount of marijuana possession.
