1890 - Sorel had been politically monarchist and traditionalist before embracing orthodox Marxism.
1892 - He became chief engineer with the Department of Public Works and retired.
1908 - Wrote "Reflections on Violence".
1920 - Sorel's belief in the need for a deliberately-conceived "myth" to sway crowds into concerted action was put into practice by mass fascist movements.
1922 - Died on the 29th of August.
