1839 - Born on the 30th of October in Paris.
1862 - He began his association with Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Jean-Frédéric Bazille.
1870-1871 - The Franco-German War brought financial ruin to the Sisley family and caused Sisley to flee temporarily to London.
- Sisley was essentially a landscape painter.
1872-1880 - His best and most spontaneous work was done in the neighbourhood of Paris, at Marly, Louveciennes, Bougival, Sèvres, Saint-Cloud, and Meudon, at a time when he was in close touch with Monet.
1899 - Died on the 29th of January in Moret sur Loing.
