Wrote collection of essays and speeches entitled "Straight Shooting: What's Wrong With America and How to Fix It" (1989).

Is a University Professor of Philosophy at Boston University and a renowned Kant scholar.

Widely regarded as one of the most enlightened educators in higher education in the 20th century.
