Sebelius, Kathleen

1948 - Born on May 15th in Cincinnati, Ohio.

1970 - Received her B.A. in Political Science from Trinity Washington University.

1974 - Kathleen Sebelius has been married to her husband, Gary, a federal magistrate judge, for 32 years. They have two sons.

1977 - Received her M.P.A. from University of Arkansas.

1987 - Was a member of Kansas State House of Representatives.

1995 - Was a State Insurance Commissioner.

2003 - Pledged independent leadership to move Kansas forward, Kathleen Sebelius became the 44th Governor of the State of Kansas.

2005 - Time magazine named her one of the nation’s top five governors.

2006 - Governor Sebelius was elected chair of the Democratic Governors Association.

         - She also chairs the Education Commission of the States, as well as serving on the National Governors Association’s Executive Committee.
