1930 - Born in Vienna on the 8th of December.
1958 - He made his Hollywood debut in the World War II film The Young Lions.
1960 - Schell reportedly was engaged to marry the African American fashion model Donyale Luna, though the wedding never happened.
1961 - He took the role of the defense attorney in Judgment at Nuremberg, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor, a role he had initiated in a live television performance.
1972 - He starred as 'Deeley' in Peter Hall's German language premiére of Harold Pinter's Old Times at the Burgtheater in Vienna.
1989 - He marry Natasha Andreichenko, whom he met on the set of Peter the Great. They have one daughter, Anastasia Schell.
