1981-1982 - Became President of Bangladesh. Term duration : 30 May 1981 to 24 March 1982
1982 - On March 24, 1982, President Abdus Sattar was removed from power by a coup-d'etat led by the army chief Hossain Muhammad Ershad
1985 - Former President Abdus Sattar died on October 5, 1985
