1940 - He managed to stay in the dictator's good graces and was allowed to retain his diplomatic position as well.

1942 - Married to Danielle Darrieux on September 18th.

1947 - Married to Doris Duke on September 1st.

1953 - Married to Barbara Hutton on December 30th.

1956 - Married to Odile Rodin on October.

1965 - Died from car crash on July 5th in Bois de Boulogne, France.
