Rubin, Robert Edward

1938 - Born on the 29th of August in New York City.

1960 - Graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in economics from Harvard College.

1964 - Attended the London School of Economics after graduation and received an LL.B. from Yale Law School.

         - Joined Goldman Sachs as an associate in the risk arbitrage department.

1980 - Joined the management committee along with fellow Democrat Jon Corzine, U.S. senator and governor of New Jersey.

1987-1990 - Vice Chairman and Co-Chief Operating Officer.

1990-1992 - Served as Co-Chairman and Co-Senior Partner along with Stephen Friedman (PFIAB).

1993-1995 - Served in the White House as Assistant to the President for Economic Policy.

        - Directed the National Economic Council, which Bill Clinton created after winning the presidency.

1995-1999 - Became the Treasury Secretary succeeding Lloyd Bentsen.
